To me, from me.

How easy is it for you to receive, without the urge to give something in return?

I get it, we live in a transactional world where we’ve been taught to believe everything comes at a cost.

We don’t like to take, it feels selfish and greedy but giving of ourselves too much without the counter balance can get very draining..

The hesitancy of receiving also includes receiving from ones-self.

All the times we don’t take a needed break, don’t buy the beautiful flowers that catch our eye, don’t take even one moment to be present with ourself or offer to ourself a kind word.

The example that relates here, as this is a blog about massage after all, is not going for one, unless there is some kind of acute symptom or something that needs to be fixed.

Can we not give ourselves something for the sheer pleasure of it? For no other reason than it feels good and I want that for myself.

Allowing the body to receive and more so, allowing ourselves to receive something from ourself is a powerful act.

Giving not as a distraction or an avoidance of something strategy, but from a place of real care and love.

When we give to ourselves in this way we become less needy of others.

Our cup is full, in fact it over flows and that excess can be offered way more willingly, to those we love.

It’s a win win.

Enjoy!
